(NewsNation) — Moms for Liberty is a “parental rights” nonprofit that reported $2.1 million in total revenue in 2022.
Since its founding in 2021, Moms for Liberty has amassed vigorous support from some conservatives who support its efforts to target references to race and LGBTQ+ identity in schools across the country. At the same time, the group has generated forceful backlash from grassroots groups and anti-hate organizations who argue its activism stirs extremist ideas and harms minority and LGBTQ+ students.
Their stated mission according to the Mom’s for Liberty website reads:
“Moms for Liberty is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.”
Tiffany Justice co-founded Moms for Liberty
“Tiffany is a wife and mom of four school-aged children. In 2016 she stepped up to serve for 4 years on the School District of Indian River County, FL School Board. She believes that kids in public school deserve innovation and parents have the right to know the union interference and government bureaucracy that is keeping that innovation from happening in their children’s district,” according to her bio on the Mom’s for Liberty website.
Tiffany Justice wants to be Trump’s education secretary
Justice recently expressed interest in a cabinet position should former President Donald Trump retake the White House in November, namely education secretary.
“I would be honored to serve,” Justice said in an interview with Education Week. “I’m open to serving in whatever capacity the president wants me to serve, whether that’s more broadly domestic policy, or if it’s focused on education.”
Tiffany Justice opposes transgender athletes in women’s sports
“Americans do not want boys playing on girls’ sports teams or in girls’ bathrooms or locker rooms. I think what you’re going to see is a resounding amount of support for any candidate who is willing to stand up and protect women’s sports,” Justice said during a recent interview with New Tang Dynasty Television (NTD Television).
Tiffany Justice opposes banning kids from social media
“Parents have fundamental rights to direct the upbringing of their children,” she said in an interview. “You’re not allowed to abuse your children. But should the government be controlling whether or not your kids use social media?”
Justice’s comments came after the Florida legislature in February passed a bill banning social media those younger than 16 years old.
