What is The Helicopter Heist about?
The Helicopter Heist is a Swedish action thriller based on the 2017 novel, Helikoterranet by Jonas Bonnier.
The eight-part series reimagines true events of the 2009 Vastberga helicopter robbery in Stockholm, Sweden.
In this action packed series the narrative follows the story of two childhood friends who have a shot at making it rich but trying to pull off one last heist.
The heist is no easy feat, taking meticulous planning to rob one of the safest cash depots in Sweden.
Scenes are said to leave viewers on the edges of their seats as the gang of thieves go as far as robbing a helicopter to land on the roof of a G4S cash depot to take off with £3.9million.
The story captures a tale of brotherhood and fatherhood with each of character being pulled in different directions morally.
Who is Nicke in The Helicopter Heist?

Nicke is an explosives expert in the adrenaline filled series.
He is played by Swedish actor, Wim Elfwencrona.
Much like Rami, Nicke was a family man who was persuaded to return to the life of crime.
But what sets him apart from the other criminal cast members is that he has a sense of morality.
The true story
On 23 September, 2009, a G4S cash service depot was robbed in southern Stockholm.
The thieves used a stolen Bell 206 helicopter to land on the building.
They then smashed a glass window using sledgehammers and used miniature bombs to blow security doors open.
The police were unable to pursue the thieves because they had planted bombs at the police helicopter base on a nearby island.
Eventually, the thieves were arrested and Alexander Erikkson, whom Axel is based on, received an eight-year prison sentence for his crime.
