British actor Theo James has revealed whether or not he’ll be jetting off to Thailand any time soon as filming for White Lotus season three gets underway.
During his appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna on Wednesday morning, host Jenna Bush Hager couldn’t resist asking Theo about the third instalment of the hit HBO show and said: ‘Are you gonna go to Thailand, or no? I think we asked you the last time you were here, we’re just gonna ask you every time!’
‘Yeah, I am going tomorrow,’ Theo, 39, teased, before laughing and adding: ‘No I’m not really,’ as Hoda Kotb was left open-mouthed – and rather disappointed by his response.
‘No, I am not going to Thailand,’ he confirmed. ‘I’m excited to see that. I think they’re having a great time out there, and they’re out there a long time, I think it’s even longer,’ he added, referring to the four months he spent in Taormina, Sicily, filming White Lotus season two.
Theo played the role of smug holidaymaker Cameron Sullivan in season two of the black comedy drama series, which was created by Mike White and follows the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain, whose interactions are affected by their various psychosocial dysfunctions.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that production on season three had begun in Southeast Asia when the show’s official Instagram shared a snap of a slate being used on the first day of filming on February 13.
The photo was captioned: ‘Unforgettable experiences are in the making at #TheWhiteLotus. We are eager to welcome new guests to our resort in Thailand,’ but it seems Cameron and wife Daphne, played by Meghann Fahy, will not be returning for the drama.
But there’s plenty of other familiar names joining the new cast including Natasha Rothwell, who played put-upon beauty therapist Belinda in the first series and Brit actors Jason Isaacs who played Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter and Aimee Lou Wood from Sex Education.
Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnie and Maria Shriver, is set to play a leading role alongside Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong.
A gang of forty-something Hollywood actresses including Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age) Leslie Bibb (The Babysitter), Michelle Monaghan (Mission Impossible) and indie film actress Parker Posey could suggest they are a group of wealthy American women seeking some sort of high-end spiritual healing.
HBO also revealed Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, and The Last Kingdom’s Arnas Fedaravičius have been cast for season three.
Last year, the show’s creator teased that the highly-anticipated third season will be ‘supersized,’ but unfortunately filming was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023.

The Four Seasons Resort on the island of Koh Samui is where season three will be set as the 45-acre hillside resort has been closed to guests since January 29 and been transformed into the new fictional White Lotus Hotel.
The star of the show, Jennifer Coolidge, who played the ditzy heiress Tanya McQuoid in the first two series, is not expected to make a reappearance as she was killed off in series two – although don’t put it past White Lotus creator Mike to find a crazy plot twist to bring her back.
