THIS is the horrifying moment a cop accidentally shot a driver with his own gun during a traffic stop gone shockingly wrong.
Jason Arrington’s leg was blasted after road police stopped him for speeding through a red light in Jacksonville, Florida.
The terrifying moment happened after the driver cooperated with police on the side of the road.
Jason told cops he had a gun on him, after he was scolded for apparently zooming through a red light.
“As long as you’re cool,” the officer said.
“I’m chill. I’m at your mercy. I ain’t gonna lie to you,” Jason responded.
“No man, I appreciate your honesty,” the officer.
The stop turned sour after Jason was asked to step out of the car for a body search.
A second cop, Officer Cardwell, shot the driver’s leg as she struggled to pull the gun from his pocket, on December 13, 2024.
Jason gripped onto his car as he grappled to keep his body up from the wound in his thigh, a video released today by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office showed.
Chaos unfolded as Officer Cardwell was desperately told to put the gun down on the ground as she didn’t say a word following the freak accident.
The video showed how the bottom of Jason’s pants were covered in blood just seconds after the shock shooting.
Cops then moved Jason to the side of the road as they attempted to stop the blood seeping through his pants and down his leg.
Officers used a tourniquet to stop most of the bleeding.
Jason – who is legally allowed to carry a gun – survived the horror accident and is expect to make a full recovery.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office revealed it was seeking to fine and remove Officer Cardwell from her job.
“The Internal Affairs investigation resulted in a sustained charge of incompetence against Officer Cardwell and JSO has begun termination proceedings for Officer Cardwell,” cops said.
This investigation found Officer Cardwell has accidentally put several fingers inside the trigger guard as she tried to remove the pistol from it’s holster.
Jason is now suing the department over the shock December shooting, according to TMZ.
The driver claimed the road stop gone wrong had left him with injuries that have affected his ability to work as a crane operator.
