Former President Obama is in Arizona Friday, holding a campaign event for Vice President Harris in the crucial swing state.
Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama endorsed Harris not long after President Biden announced he would step aside from the 2024 race. Since giving a powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention over the summer, the former president has been in the field helping to rally support for Harris against her GOP rival.
The Obamas will continue their campaign swing through the battleground states next week.
With just more than two weeks left until Election Day, former President Trump has a narrow lead over the vice president in the Grand Canyon State. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows the GOP nominee garnering 49 percent support to Harris’s 47.3 percent in the state.
Obama’s remarks from Tucson, Ariz., are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
