WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Crews are battling a “heavy” house fire in Northeast D.C. Monday night.
DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said that firefighters responded to the 3000 block of 24th St. to a 2-story home that had caught on fire.
Firefighters made a “vigorous interior attack” on both floors of the home, including the attic.
Officials said one occupant was “accounted for and safe.”
No injuries have been reported.
A neighboring home was damaged from the radiant heat, and a shed was ignited.
One woman and her service dog have been displaced.
