WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) and TikTok announced Monday that the social media platform is an official partner of the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
The new partnership comes with a new Capitals road jersey, entitlement of the team’s 50th anniversary, in-arena branding and unique programming elements specific to the Capitals, NBA’s Washington Wizards, WNBA’s Washington Mystics, NBA G-League’s Capital City Go-Go and NBA2K’s Wizards District Gaming.
Officials said the collaboration will launch immediately and extend across the 2026-27 season.
One highlight of the new alliance features the Capitals white road game jersey with the TikTok logo. These jerseys will be worn for all away games and will debut at the team’s first road game against the Boston Bruins in Boston on Sept. 24.
TikTok will also become the title sponsor of the Capital’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, which will feature tentpole events and initiatives celebrating five decades.
“As a sports enterprise with a large and diverse fan base, we are excited to utilize TikTok to uniquely connect, entertain and interact with fans across all of our Monumental Sports teams, starting with the Capitals 50th Anniversary Celebration this fall,” said Jim Van Stone, president of business operations and chief commercial officer at MSE.
Officials said the Washington Capitals are currently the eighth most-followed NHL team on TikTok, with more than 387,700 followers. The account shows players’ personalities on and off the ice and has over 10.3 million likes.
