PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Firefighters were battling a three-alarm fire that broke out in Woodbridge on Thursday evening.
The Prince William County Fire Department (PWCFD) said a warehouse in the 13000 block of Sport and Health Drive had caught fire.
In an update later in the evening, PWCFD Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky said the incident began as a fire on the back of a single-family home on Devil’s Reach Road. Because the fire was advancing, crews quickly requested a second alarm.
It was upgraded to a third alarm shortly thereafter.
Brush and other combustibles had also ignited and spread to the Kids Choice Sports building, which luckily was not heavily occupied at the time.
No one was hurt, but three adults were displaced from the home in the 1400 block of Devil’s Reach Road.
As of 6 p.m., firefighters were still working to put out the fire.
