LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – One person was killed in a violent multi-vehicle crash in Arcadia Sunday, officials announced.
Officers with the Arcadia Police Department responded to reports of the deadly collision at the intersection of Lower Azusa Road and Dufree Avenue just before 3 p.m.
Officials say that when officers arrived, they found the involved vehicles blocking lanes in the area. With the assistance of medical personnel with the Arcadia Fire Department, first responders determined that the driver of one of the vehicles had succumbed to their injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead.
Authorities did not say how many vehicles were involved in the incident or whether there were any other injured motorists or passengers.
Footage of the crash posted to the Citizen App showed extreme damage to what appears to be two vehicles, with first responders tending to at least one patient right around the corner, on Dufree Avenue, from the crash site.
Detectives with Arcadia Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team have taken over the case and are looking into the exact cause of the crash.
The identity of the deceased person was not immediately available.
