A man who police said was “high on drugs” was caught on video kicking and punching through the window of a victim’s car as they were leaving a family-friendly park in San Bernardino County.

In footage released by the Upland Police Department on Monday, the man is seen vandalizing a red Altima sedan while two police cars seemed to be actively approaching him from either side.

It happened a little before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the department’s bodycam video.

“While a family was enjoying one of our beautiful parks,” Upland PD said in an X post, “a subject high on drugs thought he was a tough guy and sucker punched a park goer.”

The video shows the shirtless man, who remains unidentified, high-kicking and denting the back left side of the sedan.

Then, as the car begins to drive away, the man is seen running and jumping up quite high – possibly holding onto the moving car for momentum into his leap – extending his right fist up in the air, and slamming it down, delivering what police called the “final blow” right through the rear windshield.

As this is happening, two police cars approach the man and the victim, and the video is filmed through their cruiser cameras.

“Officers arrived in no time and arrested the suspect for battery and felony vandalism,” concluded the department’s post. “He can now try his antics on a different type of rec yard and see how that goes.”
