Video obtained by KTLA shows a group standing by as a driver rams into the front of a smoke shop ahead of a smash-and-grab burglary in Eagle Rock.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the reported burglary at Tobacco Center on 2164 Colorado Boulevard at about 6:24 a.m.
The video submitted to KTLA by a viewer shows a black Hyundai sedan, which police said appeared to be stolen, being driven into the shop twice. Once the glass at the front of the store was broken, a group of at least three suspects entered.
Police said it wasn’t immediately clear how much merchandise was stolen. The investigation lasted several hours.
According to the viewer that submitted the video to KTLA, another smoke shop, also in Eagle Rock, was also hit in a similar matter just a few days ago. The LAPD said it was also looking into that alleged burglary.
No additional details were immediately made available.
