On Wednesday, Vanessa Morgan shared the first footage of her daughter Kaia Autumn Skye, whom she welcomed on July 27 with babydaddy James Karnik.
‘Been enjoying all the baby snuggles these past three weeks with our angel,’ the 32-year-old Wild Cards star – who boasts 9.2M Instagram/TikTok followers – captioned her slideshow.
‘Beyond grateful.’
Vanessa wrote that she chose the name Kaia – just like Cindy Crawford‘s daughter Kaia Gerber – because it means ‘the sea’ or ‘pure life.’
Morgan (last name Mziray) also Instastoried a sweet snap of her three-year-old son River Kopech holding his new baby sister.

‘This beautiful journey,’ the Riverdale alum marveled while walking on the beach with her blended family.
Vanessa’s baby news received congratulatory comments from her Riverdale co-star Skeet Ulrich, Wild Cards co-star Giacomo Gianniotti, and Margaux co-star Madison Pettis.
Morgan’s official birth announcement came 20 days after she posted a more informal TikTok of the 26-year-old Vancouver Bandits forward center carrying little Kaia out of the hospital.
‘The famous hot dad walk while leaving the hospital didn’t disappoint,’ the half-Scottish, half-Tanzanian stunner captioned the clip.
‘Ok fine, knock me up again!’
At 6ft9in, James is 19 inches taller than Vanessa, but they’ve been an inseparable Canadian couple as far back as 2022.
Before Karnik, Morgan ‘went through two years of pain’ due to ex-husband Michael Kopech, who notoriously filed for divorce from her on June 19, 2020 – one month after she discovered she was pregnant with their son.
The 28-year-old LA Dodgers pitcher has since welcomed son Vander and daughter Clover with his second wife Morgan Eudy Kopech, who has a six-year-old daughter Veda from a prior relationship.

‘In the moment, it’s so painful. It’s almost like we idolize what our dream reality [was] from when we were a kid,’ the brunette beauty lamented on Rachel Bilson’s Broad Ideas podcast on March 11.
‘You mourn the future that never happened. You mourn the fantasy that you created, and that wasn’t the reality that was the best alignment for me.’
Vanessa added: ‘God saved me. I only saw the bigger picture now. You go through those two years of pain. I went through two years of pain.’
Morgan said the biggest hurdle to get over was ‘the embarrassment’ of a ‘broken family.’

‘You get married, you want to kind of have that fantasy and I think it’s almost like you feel disappointed to tell people that it didn’t work out, I’m going to be a single mom,’ Vanessa continued.
‘I think that’s the beauty of life is that it doesn’t always go as planned and it’s the journey.’
Morgan has previously romanced NHL player Nathan MacKinnon (2014-2016) and Degrassi: The Next Generation alum Munro Chambers (2008).
