COLLEGE PARK, Md. (DC News Now) — University of Maryland (UMD) fans are counting down until tip-off and one student has a unique perspective.
The 20-year-old entrepreneur is making t-shirts to support both the men’s and women’s teams in the NCAA tournament.
Milan Chaudhary has been working out of his garage at his home in Clarksburg. He also has a production factory in Virginia where he makes Terps t-shirts to celebrate Maryland basketball programs.
“My specific graphic … that’s the one that got all the attention on social media and in my shop I’ve produced over a thousand designs but sometimes things just look right to the audience they will eat it up,” Chaudhary said.
The young entrepreneur is the CEO of Brown Boy Nation. He is calling his shirts “The Crab-5” in honor of the UMD’s men’s starting five players, a spin-off from the Michigan Fab Five team.
Chaudhary said it is his way to make sure the players get recognition, and it helps to support his Maryland teams.
“I believe the girl’s team has something great going on this year too and the men had a great season and platforming both of our teams at the University of Maryland, and we are one of the best basketball schools in the nation,” he said.
Chaudhary has sold more than 300 shirts and other merchandise and is hoping to sell more if the Terps programs advance in the NCAA tournament.
The shirts cost $40 a piece and can be purchased on the Brown Boy Nation website.
