The U.S. Postal Service is diving under the sea for its latest set of commemorative Forever stamps. The new collection celebrates “SpongeBob SquarePants,” the iconic Nickelodeon cartoon series that has entertained audiences for over two decades.
Designed by USPS art director Greg Breeding using artwork provided by Nickelodeon, the stamp collection features four designs that showcase characters from the beloved animated show created by Stephen Hillenburg.
Two stamps feature close-ups of SpongeBob’s signature goofy grin, while a third highlights an ensemble cast of characters including Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, Plankton, Mr. Krabs, Gary and Squidward Tentacles. The final stamp shows SpongeBob and Patrick joyfully frolicking on the ocean floor.
The SpongeBob SquarePants stamps are being issued as Forever stamps and will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce rate.
