TWO women have died and a nine-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a tragic early morning crash.
The collision in Pleasley on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto.
An 18-year-old was arrested at the scene of the tragic collision on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Emergency crews scrambled to respond to the horror smash shortly after 6am this morning.
Two women, both passengers in the Suzuki, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of medics.
The young lad was also in the Suzuki during the collision, he was rushed to hospital with “life-changing injuries.”
Three men who were in the Vauxhall also suffered injuries in the smash, with two of them seriously injured.
He has since been taken to the hospital due to his injuries.
Derbyshire constabulary is appealing for any witnesses to come forward as they investigate the harrowing incident.
