“We are aware of an incident that took place yesterday in Leicester city centre.

“Our thoughts are with those affected.

“GDK Leicester temporarily closed while we cooperated fully with the ongoing police investigation and have now been advised that the restaurant can reopen this evening”

“The safety of our team and customers remains our top priority, and we continue to support the authorities in any way we can” Simon said.

The police said in a statement this afternoon: “Officers investigating a stabbing in Leicester’s Granby Street have made a total of three arrests.

“Two boys, both aged 16, who were arrested on Friday and yesterday, have both been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

“A third 16-year-old boy has also been arrested today in connection with the incident.

“He currently remains in police custody.

“We are continuing to appeal for anyone who can help police with their ongoing inquiries to get in touch.

“This includes anyone who is able to provide mobile phone, CCTV or dashcam footage.”
