TWO blazes have broken out in a market town with huge plumes of smoke seen from miles away.
Emergency services have rushed to two separate fires in Ashby, Leicestershire this morning.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service are at the scene with multiple crews attending the two blazes.
Smoke has been spotted from miles away with black plumes billowing into the sky.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area with Smisby Road closed to traffic as they fight to get the fires under control.
They said in a statement on social media: “Multiple crews are attending two separate house fires in Ashby-de-la-Zouch this morning.
“Smisby Road (the B6006) through the town has been closed to traffic and motorists should avoid the area and expect delays. These are ongoing incidents.”
The Sun has contacted both the fire service and Leicestershire Police for comment.
