Donald Trump said Friday that he has appointed Fox News’ Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo to the board of the Kennedy Center, filling out the board with more of his supporters.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I am thrilled to announce that Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo will be joining our Kennedy Center Board – This completes our selection. We look forward to restoring the Center to Greatness, and ushering in America’s Golden Age. Together, we will Make the Arts Great Again!”
Last month, Trump ousted board members who were appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, breaking with a long tradition of retaining board members for six-year terms. The board, then filled with Trump appointees, elected the president as the Kennedy Center’s chairman, another first, ousting philanthropist David Rubenstein.
Ingraham is a longtime Trump defender on The Ingraham Angle, while Bartiromo was one of the prominent Fox News figures who helped amplify claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
Trump also named an adviser, Ric Grenell, to serve as the Kennedy Center president, ousting Deborah Rutter.
Earlier today, the Kennedy Center confirmed that there have been more than 20 program cancellations or postponements since Trump took the cultural institution over. The producers of Hamilton this week canceled plans for a 2026 performance in protest.
