(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump has announced that tariffs for Europe are no longer on the table.
The president took to Truth Social to announce that he and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte have also “formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland.”
As a result of that talk, punitive tariffs up to 10% that were meant to go in effect on Feb. 1 will no longer be issued.
“This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations,” Trump wrote. “Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland.”
Trump later added that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff would be responsible for any future negotiations.
The details of that framework are unclear at this time, but when speaking to reporters, the president said: “It’s right now a little bit in progress, but pretty far along. It gets us everything we needed to get.”
He added details are going to be put out “pretty soon.”
