British Transport Police say the suspect stopped the man from leaving.

A member of staff later rushed over to help the victim get away and reported the attack.

BTP has now released CCTV of a man they believe could help with their investigation.

Anyone who knows the individual has been urged to contact the force.

A BTP spokesperson added: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault at Liverpool Street Underground Station have released this image in connection.

“On Tuesday 16 December at around 4.40pm a man sexually assaulted another man at the station.

“The man then prevented the victim from leaving the area, and followed him until a member of station staff intervened.

“Detectives believe the man in this image may have information that could help with their investigation.

“Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 529 of 16 of December.

“Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
