Cops said the body was found in the River Trent near Newark shortly after on Sunday.

While formal identification has yet to take place, Jamie’s family have been informed of the development, they added.

Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a very tragic development and we are supporting Jamie’s family at this difficult time.

“The circumstances are still being investigated but at this time we are not treating the death as suspicious.

“We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals since Jamie was reported missing.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner as our investigations continue.”

It comes after another body was found in the search for a missing man who vanished from Poole, Dorset.

Dorset Police received a report raising concern for the welfare of Lee, 37, on November 7.

He was last spotted around 3pm that day in the Waterloo Road area and was found on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Very sadly, during the morning of Sunday, November 9, the body of a man was located in the Ringstead Bay area near Weymouth.

“While formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be Lee and his family has been informed.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”

Cops confirmed that Lee’s death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.

It comes after another body was found in the search for a missing woman who vanished in Weymouth in September.

Her disappearance sparked a major search and her body was found with the assistance of the National Police Air Service.
