Both shock deaths were as a result of separate and unrelated medical incidents – at the same Asda store.

Emergency crews first rushed to the shop in West Swindon shortly before 5pm on Friday, February 13.

A man was found in cardiac arrest following a medical incident.

Desperate extensive efforts were made to save his life.

Asda temporarily closed its doors and customers were asked to leave the site following the tragedy.

But despite the best efforts of emergency respondents, the man died around half an hour later.

Just 48 hours later, shortly after 10am on Sunday, February 15, cops and paramedics, this time along with an air ambulance, were rushing back to the same Asda.

A man in his 70s died at the scene following a medical episode.

Cops have since confirmed neither of the deaths are being treated as suspicious or related.

Asda has now shared its “heartfelt condolences” to the families of both men.

The supermarket says it continues to support its staff who have been praised for their quick response.

A spokesperson for Asda told the Swindon Advertiser: “Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the loved ones of the two men who sadly passed away following separate medical incidents at our West Swindon store in recent days.

“We continue to support our colleagues after what has been a very difficult few days, and we would like to thank them and the emergency services for their response under the circumstances.

“We’re grateful to our customers for their understanding during this time.”
