THE body of a woman was pulled from water near a block of flats in a city centre this morning.
Cops have blocked off an area near St George’s Island flats on Kelso Place in Castlefield, Manchester, since 9am.
The body was pulled from a stretch of water between the Bridgewater Canal and the River Irwell.
A number of police vehicles remain at the scene and are protecting the cordoned off area.
Fire crews were also reportedly earlier in attendance.
The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 9am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, officers were called to Kelso Place, Manchester to reports of a body in the water.
“Emergency services attended and a female was pulled from the water.
“She was taken to hospital however has sadly passed away.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
