A BODY has been found in a nature reserve following the search for a missing 40-year-old woman.
Cops made the horror find in Skegness this morning near a beach on Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire.
Local police said that while formal identification has not yet taken place, officers believe the body is that of Candice Watts.
Candice was last seen in the Horncastle area on December 22 and was reported missing soon after.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
The death is not believed to be suspicious, and officers will be preparing a file for the coroner.
In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called at 8.20am today (30 December) near a beach on Gibraltar Point in Skegness after the body of a woman was found in the water.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, but we believe the woman to be 40-year-old Candice Watts.
“Her next of kin have been informed, and we are asking for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
“Her death is not believed to be suspicious and we will be preparing a file for the coroner.”
HM Coastguard Skegness added: “Our thoughts are with the family at this time.”
