A woman was charged with child endangerment after a traffic stop in Hermosa Beach revealed an alleged loaded gun and narcotics in a diaper bag near her 2-month-old child, police said.

In a social media post, officials with the Hermosa Beach Police Department said that during a traffic stop in the 100 block of 15th Street near downtown on Jan. 25, officers learned that the male driver of the vehicle was was wanted on felony warrants and taken into custody.

The female occupant of the vehicle was detained outside with her infant daughter while officers searched the car.

In body-worn camera footage released by the department, the officer can be seen going through the woman’s diaper bag when he cautiously removes an alleged loaded firearm, and a small plastic bag of what police said was narcotics.

“It’s a loaded firearm. All it takes is one click, like if she grabbed that or something?” an officer is heard replying.

The woman was then also arrested on various charges, including child endangerment, police said.
