FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews were at the scene of a tractor-trailer fire on I-495 Tuesday evening.
All I-495 northbound lanes near Leesburg Pike were closed as firefighters worked to clear the scene. There, a tractor-trailer cab had become fully engulfed in flames.
Crews were able to contain the fire to the cab and get it under control by 7 p.m.
No one was hurt, firefighters noted.
As of the department’s post on X about the incident at 7 p.m., all northbound lanes of I-495 in the area were still closed.
Drivers should expect traffic delays.
