TLC canceled two shows in the Northeast this weekend after T-Boz came down with health issues.
The band canceled their Friday night gig at the New York State Fair in Syracuse 30 minutes before the show thinking T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, had a simple case of food poisoning.
‘Shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps,’ a press release from the band read.
‘She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.’
But when doctors examined her, she had an abdominal blockage that caused the band to also cancel their Saturday concert at Foxwoods in Connecticut.

‘The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage,’ the statement continued.
‘Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincere apologies to all her fans and the event promoters.
‘The decision to cancel was made under the advisement of her physician, who required her to stay in the hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition.’
The No Scrubs singer was still in the hospital as of Saturday and was expected to be released sometime on Sunday.
The band is now a duo consisting of T-Boz and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas after the death of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 2002.
The photographer for the New York State Fair posted the cancelation notice on Instagram.
He captioned it, ‘BREAKING: possibly the largest show this year – TLC at the @newyorkstatefair is cancelled, announced at 7:30pm, they never made it for the afternoon sound check either.’
Later, he added to the post, ‘UPDATE: according to TLC‘s official social media it was not food poisoning but an extended hospital stay for an abdominal blockage.’
