THE Sun on Sunday has been nominated for two major gongs in The British Journalism Awards.
Political Editor Kate Ferguson and Showbiz News Correspondent Amir Razavi are up for Scoop of the Year for the agenda-setting front page story ‘Three Pads Rayner’.
They revealed in August how the ex-Deputy PM had splashed out more than £700,000 on a luxury seaside apartment near Brighton – her third home.
The former Housing Secretary was forced to resign after it emerged she had failed to pay enough tax on the property.
Kate has also been shortlisted in the Politics Journalism category for her exclusive story exposing how Rayner’s boyfriend Sam Tarry worked for a lobby group whose client got a £280,000 cash boost from the Labour government.
She has also been recognised for her interview with Nigel Farage where the Reform leader vowed to be the UK’s Elon Musk and wage war on council waste.

The Sun’s video team is up for the Online Video Journalism gong for their work on the groundbreaking documentary Madeleine McCann: The Unseen Evidence, alongside award-winning reporter Rob Pattison and Head of News Alex Goss.
And Showbiz Assistant Editor Clemmie Moodie has been shortlisted in the Arts & Entertainment category for a string of celebrity scoops.
She was the first to lift the lid on Gregg Wallace’s misconduct on Masterchef and also revealed how the BBC had called in cops after a bullying probe at Strictly.
The winners of the 2025 Press Gazette awards will be announced in a ceremony hosted by Radio 2 presenter Jeremy Vine on December 11.
