While Ben Affleck, 52, may always look downcast, there’s good reason for it – and it’s not because he is ‘miserable.’
However, his low-spirited walkabouts do have to do with his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, 55, who he is currently in the process of getting divorced from.
The two, who first met and were briefly engaged in 2004 before calling it off, got married in July 2022, but announced their split just this summer after just two years.
Since the split, Affleck has been pictured around Los Angeles looking somber, but a source close to the Good Will Hunting actor insists it’s not because he’s truly unhappy.
‘Ben is not miserable,’ the source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
The actor and director though looked somewhat downcast while across town, his ex Jennifer Lopez put on a spectacular show on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere for Wicked

‘The reason he may always look it when he is out and about is that photogs are constantly asking about “J.Lo this” and “J.Lo that,”‘ the source continued, adding that he is ‘over the constant questions about her.’
What the filmmaker is most looking forward to is simply forging ahead.
‘He just wants to move on…hence the divorce,’ the source told DailyMail.com.
‘This whole divorce is dragging on too which has him a bit stressed.’
The source also told DailyMail.com that Ben is looking forward to no longer being asked questions about his ex.
‘Ben is glad she is focusing on herself,’ the source shared. ‘He is glad she’s doing red carpets and looking glamorous.’
Since their split, however, it seems like some things have stayed amicable, at least when it comes to public-facing press.
In a recent interview, Affleck praised Lopez’s role in the upcoming sports drama, Unstoppable, which he produced.

Lopez will play Judy Robles in the biopic, the mom of wrestler Anthony Robles, who the movie is about.
‘Jennifer is spectacular,’ Affleck told Entertainment Tonight about his ex-wife’s part in the movie.
A few days later, Lopez seemingly responded to Affleck by telling E! News on the red carpet during the film’s U.K. that she would describe everyone on the cast as ‘spectacular and wonderful.’
‘I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes,’ the Jenny From The Block hitmaker told the outlet.
Since the split, Lopez has been hitting the red carpets in some seriously chic outfits, like the racy, flesh-flashing gown she wore to the Wicked premiere this weekend, and the busty, black low-cut mini dress on her recent trip to London.
In a recent interview for Interview Magazine conducted by comedian Nikki Glaser and published last month, she opened up about her recent divorce and how she was doing.
The two had gotten to talking about how to deal with the hard things in life, which is when Lopez started to speak about what she was going through.
‘You have to be complete, if you want something that’s more complete,’ Lopez told Glaser.

‘You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, “I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.”’
In response, the comedian then asked Lopez if that was a ‘hard’ process – to which she said it absolutely was.
‘It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate. But when you sit in those feelings and go, “These things are not going to kill me,” it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself,’ Lopez admitted.
‘Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, “No, I’m actually good.”’
