HBO announced Thursday that it is renewing “The Last of Us” for a third season, news that comes just days before the premiere of the show’s second season.
The post-apocalyptic series starring Pedro Pascal has been a hit for HBO since its debut in 2023. It became one of HBO’s highest-rated drama series in the network’s history, and it earned 24 Primetime Emmy nominations and eight wins for its first season.
The second season of “The Last of Us” premieres on HBO and its streaming service Max on Sunday.
