EXCLUSIVE: Production is gearing up on a second season of U.S. docuseries The Gen Zone, the weekly news commentary show with a youth-driven approach to national and international politics.

Created by producer Damien Douglas and hosted by actress Jhone Lucas, the series blends commentary, viral moments, meme culture and interactions with young voters.

The next eight-episode installment — titled The United States of Amnesia — will again delve into the cultural, political, and social forces shaping America, “examining how media cycles, misinformation, and institutional memory (or lack thereof) influence the national conversation”.

Production is scheduled to kick off in June, with the new season expected to premiere after this year’s midterm elections. The first season debuted on Fox Soul before showing on BET+.

Douglas and Lucas share producer credits. They also wrote the series alongside Selena Kuikahi. Robert Reber will direct.

“Since its debut, The Gen Zone has been recognized for redefining political storytelling for a new era, creating a space where civic engagement meets cultural relevance,” claimed Douglas, whose credits as a producer include features War Dawgs and Fear. “With The United States of Amnesia, the series is poised to elevate the conversation even further—delivering timely, compelling content at a moment when the stakes for young voters have never been higher.”

Lucas, whose credits as actress include War Dawgz and Lunar Lockdown, added: “Politics affects every aspect of our daily lives and sets the stage for ethics and morality in our society. As a generation, we can no longer afford not to be informed about political issues in our country. So, we’re stepping up to do just that. We’re honored to be a voice that not only relates to younger generations but believe that what we’re doing is serving a bigger purpose. Our future depends on it.”
