The Block’s Jesse and Paige have revealed why they decided to call off their wedding after leaving the Channel Nine show.
The couple, who were dubbed series ‘villains’ and exited in September after producers intervened during a heated argument, opened up to Woman’s Day on Monday about their nuptials being postponed.
The Blockheads’ wedding was set for December, but has now been cancelled due to the ‘very hectic’ year they have had being on the show.
Paige, 28, explained that they needed more time to plan the special day after their busy year.
‘The year has been very hectic and we just didn’t have the mental capacity to give the wedding the attention it deserves,’ she said.
Her fiancé Jesse, 30, added that pushing back the wedding was a matter of focus.
‘For us, it’s not just about a wedding, it’s about actually getting married to each other. And we felt we couldn’t put our full focus into it with how the year’s gone so far,’ he said.
The couple also insisted that they came away from their chaotic time on the show stronger than ever.

‘Our relationship was never in question. But we can totally understand why people think that,’ Paige admitted.
Paige and Jesse announced they had called off their wedding late last month in a heartfelt note sent to their guests.
The engaged couple sent their wedding guests a sad note revealing the ceremony was off.

‘Dear friends and family, life, in its unpredictable course, has presented us with unforeseen circumstances that has led us to postpone our upcoming wedding on 12 December,’ the note began.
The pair added they had decided it was not the right time for them to exchange vows and were postponing the event for a later, unspecified, time.
‘While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating our love and commitment with you all, we believe it is essential to acknowledge when a moment is not right. This year, it is not.
‘We extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment this news may bring. A new date for our celebration is unknown at this time, but we will keep you abreast of any rescheduling.’
The couple’s stint on the show was marked by infighting and bickering, as they continually – and loudly – disagreed on effective home renovation strategies.
After seeking professional help, the couple cited mental health stress as they gave up their place on the competition, with their exit prompting conversation about the show’s care policies.
