THIS is the terrifying moment a man chases a mother and her teen daughter before brutally attacking them.
Shocking footage shows a man approaching the pair under a bridge.
He bends to pick up what looks like a rubbish bag before pursuing the mum and 14-year-old child.
CCTV shows as they try to cross the road after getting off a bus in Anaheim, southern California.
After the video cuts, the man then allegedly attacked the pair in broad daylight, threatening to sexually assault them behind nearby trees.
Speaking to ABC7, the 14-year-old said she feared for her life in the alleged assault.
She said the man tried to grab her and her mum off the pavement as they desperately shouted for help.
He then shoved her mother to the ground, she said.
The daughter recounted: “We were screaming for help.
“I felt like that was going to be my last day here and I was just so traumatised.”
Her mum added: “A bag of my pills fell.
“When I tried to pick it up, he hit me with a bag in his hand and I fell on the street.”
She spoke of her daughter’s courage as the pair fought back.
The mother said: “She was very brave, she also protected me, the two of us united, thanks to the mercy of God.”
Luckily, a good Samaritan stepped in to defend the pair, stopping her car to help.
They were then able to call 911.
Anaheim Police said they arrested suspect Jose Gudino, 59, two hours after the incident and charged him for the attack.
The Orange County District Attorney announced charges of kidnapping with intent to commit rape.
The mother and daughter said they had shared their story to warn other women.
Anaheim cop Matt Sutter told The California Post that the alleged attack was “a very isolated incident”.
He said: “We activated a lot of resources at it as soon as possible so we can arrest that person and remove them so that people can feel safe in the community.”
