Simit Bajndari, class of 2010, said “When we were in school, Maryland basketball was the thing … The energy was crazy. It seems like we’re getting it back.”
Over at Looney’s Pub in College Park, students, alumni and die-hard fans watched the team cruise to its victory.
“We all live and breathe that Old Bay and that Crab Five,” said Evan Johnson, referring to the nickname given to the team’s starting five.
Maryland will play Colorado State on Sunday with a chance to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since the 2015-2016 season.
