WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police said Friday that they arrested a teenage boy for an armed robbery that happened back in November 2024 in Southeast D.C.
A man flagged down the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) at around 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2024. He told an officer that he was in the 4200 block of 4th Street SE to meet with someone interested in buying a PlayStation Gaming Console he was selling.
The victim said he and the suspect agreed to meet there because he couldn’t drive.
The 16-year-old suspect looked at the PlayStation and asked the man for his CashApp information so he could buy it. Then, the boy scrolled through his phone as if he was going to send over money.
Instead, the teenager put his phone in his pocket and pulled out a gun, pointing it at the victim.
The two then had a slight “tug of war” over the PlayStation box, MPD said.
Eventually, the victim let the box go and the suspect fled with the PlayStation.
On Jan. 30, MPD said it arrested the 16-year-old and charged him with Armed Robbery (Gun).
