Jenelle Evans returned to the Teen Mom franchise on Thursday’s episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter after being fired in May 2019 from Teen Mom 2.
The 32-year-old reality star opened the season two episode by calling her fellow Teen Mom 2 star Briana DeJesus, 30, to let her know she was going to Orlando, Florida, on a quick trip.
‘I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but, you know, of course, me and David, we’ve separated,’ Jenelle said over the phone, referencing her estranged husband David Eason, 35.
‘Are you ok?,’ Briana asked.
‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m good. So I’m gonna be in Orlando for a few days. I was seeing if you wanted to get together,’ said Jenelle, who was fired from Teen Mom 2 after David shot and killed their pet dog in April 2019.

‘Um, yes,’ Briana said.
Jenelle shortly later was shown at her hotel in Florida ahead of meeting up with Briana at Susana’s Cafe, a specialty coffee shop.
‘Some people would say my life has been wild,’ Jenelle said in a voice-over as flashbacks showed her on 16 And Pregnant. ‘But honestly, I’ve always felt like I was just trying to survive and be the best mom I can.’
Jenelle told how she became a teen mom at age 17 when she had her first son Jace.
‘After that, I didn’t make the greatest decisions,’ said Jenelle, whose mother at one point gained custody of Jace.
‘I eventually had my second son, Kaiser, with Nathan, who at that time I thought was the love of my life,’ Jenelle added as flashbacks showed her with ex Nathan Griffith.
‘Things didn’t work out with Nathan, and I quickly met David. Things changed for me when I met David. We had our daughter Ensley and ended up getting married. I finally had a solid family life, or so I thought,’ Jenelle said as archive footage showed her and David getting married and arguing on Mother’s Day weekend.
‘It took me some time to realize it wasn’t a healthy relationship, but I finally got the courage to walk away for good,’ Jenelle said.

Jenelle in a confessional reflected on her relationship with David.
‘I felt like I was walking on eggshells with David. I felt like I was being reprimanded like a child all the time. I just feel like he didn’t treat me like I was his wife. He belittled me a lot. I was sick of it. Mentally abusive. Not happy at all,’ Jenelle said.
‘From the moment I left David, I felt a huge weight off my shoulders, and it’s felt really good. Right now, all I want for my life is, I want the kids to have a fresh start. And I just think I need to move as soon as possible,’ Jenelle said.
Briana’s face lit up with joy when she saw Jenelle at Susana’s Cafe and she first asked Jenelle about her children.
‘They’re doing good. They’re home with the babysitter right now. They’re doing a lot better now that we’ve separated,’ Jenelle said.
Jenelle said she had full custody of Jace and Briana congratulated her.
‘Thank you. We did have up and downs,’ Jenelle said.
She told how Jace ran away and once Child Protective Services got involved her son ended up at the hospital due to regulations in North Carolina.

‘Jace is like, ”David strangled me.” Then Jace was allowed to come home, but there’s criminal charges on David for strangulation and child abuse. So then I was like, ”David, he’s coming home. And you got to leave. I’m sorry”,’ Jenelle said.
‘Good,’ Briana said.
‘This was all a blessing in disguise because it put a no-contact order between David and Jace,’ Jenelle said.
Briana asked about her recent court appearance and Jenelle said she was seeking a permanent restraining order against David. She was asked what she put as ‘evidence’ in her paperwork.
‘I had to write a whole statement. He would throw objects, put holes in walls, emotionally abusive, saying, “Jenelle, go kill yourself. “Your mother doesn’t even love you. Cry yourself to sleep, b****.”,’ Jenelle said.
‘He’s disgusting,’ Briana said. ‘David has never hit you ever?’
‘No,’ Jenelle said.
‘Except for that collarbone incident,’ she added.

She recalled how David pinned her on the ground in October 2018 with her arm behind her back prompting her to call 911.
‘I heard that phone call,’ Briana said.
‘So I definitely have to get a fresh start and get out of North Carolina. So that’s why I’m here,’ Jenelle said.
Jenelle also told Briana about her manager friend August who lives in Las Vegas and said she was also considering moving to Nevada.
‘I’m gonna decide which place, where I want to go. I was thinking, you know, if I did go to Vegas, I could start my own, you know, marijuana business,’ Jenelle said.
Briana later drove Jenelle around to see houses and Jenelle told a real estate agent she was looking for a ‘fresh start’ with her children ages, 14, nine and seven.
Jenelle shared a video that August sent her of a house in Las Vegas that he found for her.

‘Wow, that’s a big-ass house. You don’t need that big of a house, Jenelle. Go in this with, like, “I’m still gonna do everything by myself.” Because you don’t want to depend on anybody,’ Briana advised.
‘I feel really free for the first time in a long time. Right now, we need a clean slate. All I want for my life is for my kids to be happy and to live life as stress-free as possible, leaving all the bad negative energy behind in North Carolina, starting out fresh somewhere. New house, new vibes, new energy. I want to go into this with very positive feelings,’ Jenelle said in a confessional.
The season two episode titled Milk Duds, a Ring and a Baby showed Mackenzie McKee getting her children ready as she was about to have an adults-only date with her boyfriend Khesanio. Her children thought a surprise was in store and guessed that Kkesanio was going to surprise her with either a baby, ring or Milk Duds, lending the episode its title.
Leah Messer, 32, also was shown seeking a restraining order against her ex Jeremy Calvert after he showed up at the restaurant where she works as a waitress.
Jeremy shortly later was served with papers while he was with their 11-year-old daughter Addie and Leah later talked with her about it.
Addie admitted that she was angry with Leah and blamed her, but Leah explained that she was trying to do what’s best and shielded her from the court case.
Show producer Brendan after her court hearing asked Leah how it went.
