TWO men have been charged with kidnap after a 15-year-old girl was forced into a car on a busy city centre street in a terrifying broad daylight ordeal.

Mohammed Ali, aged 49, and his son Luqman Ali, 20, attempted to bundle the teen into a vehicle in central Birmingham.

The terrified girl was only saved from the men when members of the public stopped them from driving off.

She managed to escape from the car and ran into a nearby shop to ask for help.

The two suspects were quickly arrested at the scene for their role in the petrifying incident.

Specialist officers are speaking to the girl and offering her support in the wake of the harrowing ordeal.

Both Mohammed and Luqman are charged with kidnapping, Mohammed is also accused of false imprisonment and assault.

The pair have been remanded in custody and will appear before city magistrates today.

Anyone with information relating to the terrifying incident is asked to contact West Midlands Police urgently.

The force said: “We are aware of misinformation circulating about the incident, and so we are confirming that the suspects and victim are of British Asian heritage.

“Our investigation continues and anyone with information, mobile phone or dash cam footage, has been asked to get in touch via 101, quoting 20/406171/25.”
