HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Howard County Police Department said a teenage boy has died and another teen boy is in critical condition after a shooting near The Mall in Columbia on Saturday afternoon.
Police said that at about 5:50 p.m., they responded to the parking lot and bus loop area outside of Lidl in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway for the report of shots fired.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two teenage boys who had been shot.
One of the teen boys died at the scene and the other was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and there was one shooter.
The investigation is ongoing.
