Teddi Mellencamp took to Instagram to wish estranged husband Edwin Arroyave a happy 48th birthday on Saturday.

Sharing a throwback family photo featuring their kids — Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, Dove, five, and Edwin’s 16-year-old daughter Isabella — the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality shared a short, poignant caption.

She wrote, ‘Happy birthday Edwin! No matter where life takes us I know we’re both proud of what we’ve created for the kiddos.’

The tribute post comes amid the couple’s impending divorce, which is on hold as Teddi, 43, battles stage four cancer.

Mellencamp confirmed in an interview with ET that the pair still intend to end their marriage, despite her ongoing health crisis.

On top of her immunotherapy treatment, she is also balancing co-parenting with Edwin.

While discussing how she and Arroyave are moving forward, she began crying as she recalled explaining to him: ‘I’m like, ‘I don’t think you understand the debilitating pain that I feel some days thinking about the fact that, like, my kids…”

‘That is extremely frightening. My kids are young,’ she told ET reporter Nischelle Turner.

Teddi remembered a particularly emotional moment when she was in the hospital after undergoing emergency brain surgery to remove several tumors.

‘I was like, “I feel like today might be Dove’s birthday,:; she recalled saying to her husband. ‘And Edwin’s like, “It is. It’s her party today that you planned.”‘

Tears streamed down her face as she went on to say, ‘And I was like, “Can they please just let me out for today?”‘

She credited Edwin with providing the perfect response: ‘We’ll throw another one.’

The former reality television personality finished radiation earlier this month, and now her treatment consists of immunotherapy.

On a recent episode of The Eds podcast, Arroyave opened up to co-host Eddie Judge about his instinct to be there for Teddi even though their marriage is ending

On a recent episode of The Eds podcast, Arroyave opened up to co-host Eddie Judge about his instinct to be there for Teddi even though their marriage is ending.

He remembered when he first found out about her diagnosis and said his initial thought was to get her to feel ‘confident.’

The father-of-four said he also wanted to get their relationship to a ‘good place’ and make sure their three kids were emotionally secure

‘No matter what, I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do. So it wasn’t even like, a question,’ Edwin said of being by his wife’s side throughout her health ordeal.

Referring to their paused divorce proceedings, he shared, ‘The first thing is just making sure that we take care of this first.

‘And all that other stuff — we’ll see what happens with time. But for right now, it’s just more of like, how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as [possible]? That other stuff will figure itself out.’
