An oil spill on the 710 Freeway in Long Beach is causing delays during the morning commuting hours.
The spill was reported at about 4:15 a.m. according to a Sigalert issued by Caltrans. An oil tanker crashed in the northbound lanes of the 710 near Del Amo Boulevard, leaving spillage on the ground.
As of 8 a.m., there was no word on potential injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the lanes will be blocked until around noon. Commuters are recommended to find alternate routes in the meantime.
The spill is near the area where a big rig truck was jackknifed on the 91 Freeway in Long Beach early Thursday morning, causing more delays.
