Suspects arrested for Home Depot thefts in Orange County

Two suspects were arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of tools from Home Depot stores in Orange County. 

The suspects were identified as Karen Juliana Hurtado Lopez, 23, and Cristian David Moreno, 22, both Los Angeles residents, according to the Irvine Police Department

On Jan. 22, police pulled the suspects over when they spotted their vehicle without a license plate.

As an officer approached, she spotted a large amount of tools and merchandise in the backseat. While investigating, police believed the duo was responsible for stealing over $2,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot stores in nearby cities.

They were taken into custody. Police released photos of the suspects with their faces blurred.

Officers discovered Moreno was wanted on a $25,000 warrant for organized theft. He was arrested for conspiracy and possessing stolen property.

Lopez was charged with having fraudulent identification, possessing stolen property, and conspiracy.

Both suspects were booked at the Orange County Jail. No further details were released as the case remains under investigation.
