Storm Reid’s new gig is a “full-circle” moment for her.
The Euphoria star debuts as an ambassador for Coach on Sept. 5 — and it’s a brand she’s known and loved for many years. Though she’s been carrying Coach bags since she was young and has been dressed by the brand a number of times, it wasn’t until now that she was tapped as a face of the brand.
And we mean quite literally — Reid gets to model sunglasses for Coach.
In the sunny campaign, Reid models a sleek pair of shades, and she tells PEOPLE that when you wear the right pair of sunglasses, you “exude confidence,” and she’s all about that.
Looking back on her memories of Coach, Reid, 21, recalled her younger years of having a very demure, very mindful and “very cutesy” entry into the Coach world when she was a kid.
“My first Coach bag was hot pink, if I’m not mistaken,” she tells PEOPLE. “And I loved it. I was super-duper excited when I got my first Coach bag. My older sisters wore Coach, my mom wore Coach. And I would put my lip glosses in my little bag. I had Coach shoes, too. So a full-circle moment of being part of a brand that you authentically like to wear and that has been a part of your life for a really long time is really cool.”

Reid, who is currently in her last year at the University of Southern California, tells PEOPLE that she has a soft spot for Coach and creative director Stuart Vevers, because they created one of her first custom red carpet pieces for the Wrinkle in Time premiere in Los Angeles in 2018. The team collaborated with Reid’s stylist Jason Bolden to create a look perfect for Reid — and she’s forever grateful.
“Stuart and his team are amazing and have always been so supportive, so I’m glad to officially be part of the brand now,” she says.
She even went to the Met Gala with Coach this year, in yet another custom look and carrying a Times Square Tabby purse with plenty of New York-themed charms. It was her second trip to fashion’s biggest night (her first was in 2021), and she tells PEOPLE that this time was “much more relaxing” since she’d already been up the Met Museum’s famous steps once before.
“I was elated to be there again,” she says. “It’s going to be a nerve-racking night no matter what, but I had fun. To be able to be Mr. Stuart’s date was a good time — we danced, we sang.”
The new Unlock Your Courage campaign also stars new global ambassadors Charles Melton, Elle Fanning and Nazha, as well as returning Coach family members Jayson Tatum, Koki and Youngji Lee.
