A man from Redlands was arrested after a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputy conducting a bicycle stop discovered he had eight warrants and was in possession of illicit drugs.
A media release from SBSD states that a deputy from the Central Station conducted a bicycle stop on a man at the corner of Mountain View Avenue and Juanita Street in Loma Linda on Saturday around 10:18 p.m.
The deputy contacted the subject – identified as 57-year-old Ruben Luevano – and found that he had eight active arrest warrants in addition to drugs and paraphernalia.
“Luevano was found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine, numerous hypodermic needles, a scale and other items indicative of the transportation and/or sale of controlled substances,” SBSD said.
Luevano was booked at the Central Detention Center for transportation of a controlled substance. Inmate search records indicate he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He is being held on $60,000 bail, according to SBSD’s Inmate Locator.
