A juvenile driver involved in a violent single-vehicle crash was killed, while five other minors were rushed to the hospital Tuesday in Orange County.
The incident, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, occurred just before noon near the intersection of Dana Point Harbor Drive and Island Way in Dana Point.
Details are limited and it’s unclear what exactly caused the crash, but the teen driver, behind the wheel of a Dodge pickup truck, reportedly ran into a tree and was declared dead at the scene.
While two of the other juveniles sustained minor injuries, three others were reportedly in critical condition when they were taken to the hospital.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team assumed the case.
