A singer, who works as a waitress in her spare time to fund her music career, has bagged the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform as a support act for her ‘hero’  Stevie Nicks.

Catty, whose real name is Catrin Hopkins, has managed to secure one of the six spots to play live at the Fleetwood Mac star’s BST Hyde Park show on July 12.

The artist, from Caernarfon, Gwynedd, sent a voice note to the booking agent for the show on Instagram according to BBC News.

In the recording, she gave it her best shot and said: ‘Hi, this is so embarrassing, but I just think it should be me.’

Speaking to Radio Wales Breakfast, the waitress said: ‘I called my manager and said ‘there’s no way this can go ahead without me”.

‘So I found the booking agent and I just sent her a voice note on Instagram.’

Sharing the exciting news on Instagram with her 10,000 followers, Catty wrote:

‘I cannot believe I’m saying this but I’m supporting Stevie Nicks at BST Hyde Park.

‘As soon as she was announced everything in me told me that I should be on this line up but I didn’t know how to make it happen independently. THAT’S WHERE YOOOOOU COME IN.

‘I saw your comments, I saw your tweets, I saw you cast your little spells – I BELIEVE IN MAGIC BECAUSE OF YOU.

‘Stevie is what music sounds like to me, she has soundtracked every celebration and every heartbreak.
