THIS is the shocking moment a toddler is snatched by a homeless man inside a supermarket – leaving the child’s mum screaming for help.
Chilling footage showed the one-year-old girl being grabbed by a Romanian man in front of her horrified parents at a store in Italy.
In the dramatic CCTV clip, the man enters the shop as the family – a mum, dad and daughter – leave through the automatic doors.
Seconds later, the suspect, wearing a black hoodie and green pants, takes hold of the young girl at the store in Bergamo.
At one point, the toddler is pulled in both directions by both her mum and the man – who both hold on to her arms and legs.
The tot’s shocked dad immediately jolts away from the trolley he is pushing, before attempting to intervene.
Mortified bystanders then jump in to help retrieve the child.
Another girl with black hair is even seen looking on in confusion at the terrifying altercation.
Moments later, security guards also intervene in the scuffle to help hold down the brazen homeless man.
Police were called and rushed to the scene at the supermarket
Local cops secured the child before taking the man to the police station.
Passers-by and CCTV footage helped authorities piece together the ordeal.
The child was taken to hospital shortly after the scuffle.
Doctors say she suffered a fractured femur as a result of the alleged assault.
The man was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping of a child under 14 and aggravated assault.
He is currently in prison awaiting validation of his arrest.
