THIS is the shocking moment a car suddenly burst into flames, forcing the driver and passenger to flee for their lives.
The blaze engulfed a further three vehicles in a quiet suburb as a series of “explosions” rang out.
Eyewitnesses report that the motor caught light without warning while travelling along a busy street in Bristol.
Rob Stewart, who was cycling behind the vehicle when the blaze started, told The Sun what he saw.
He recalled: “All of a sudden there was a huge explosion from the boot of the car.
“The windows all shattered.
“The car turned off the main high street into a side road and was suddenly engulfed in flame.
“I was on the scene within seconds, but the occupants of the car had already fled.
“There were loud explosions and thick black smoke was pouring out.”
Rob added that the three fire engines soon arrived and brought the inferno under control.
He went on: “It’s a very quiet, well-to-do suburb.
“This has shocked everyone.”
