Selena Gomez is teaming up with Sephora to donate proceeds from her Rare Beauty line for Mental Health Day.
The pop star’s company is teaming up with the brand to benefit the Rare Impact Fund on October 10, for the second year in a row.
Gomez, who was recently declared a billionaire, has frankly discussed her own struggles with bipolar disorder since her diagnosis in 2018.
‘The mental health crisis continues to impact young people disproportionately and partners like Sephora are instrumental, not only by believing in this mission, but by contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them,’ she stated.
The 32-year-old singer and actress founded the Rare Impact Fund with the goal of mobilizing $100 million for organizations to increase access to youth mental health services, as well as education around the world.

Rare Beauty donates one percent of its sales directly, while the fund also raises money through support from individuals, corporate partners, its community, and other philanthropic organizations.
It is believed Rare Beauty’s net sales in 2023 totaled at around $350 million.
Gomez, who founded the company in 2019, was recently revealed to have attained billionaire status through her cosmetics empire.
Last month it emerged that she is worth about $1.3 billion, the ‘vast bulk’ of which she earned from Rare Beauty, according to Bloomberg.
The company’s CEO Scott Friedman hopes they can grow on sales for Mental Health Day compared to last year.
He told WWD: ‘As people become more and more aware of our mission and aware of the brand and aware of our partnership with Sephora, I do expect that it will increase this year over last year.’
Meanwhile, Sephora CEO Guillaume Motte praised Gomez for how ‘committed’ she is to the foundation she’s created.
Motte said: ‘I thought: “We have an opportunity to do something bigger than the products, to give back to the community.” We’re going to partner to give back to the Rare Impact Fund.

‘That’s where it started last year. And we are very proud to continue and be even more ambitious this year.’
Gomez has been a longtime public advocate for increased awareness of mental health issues, and has been open about her own personal experience of the issue.
Two years ago she starred in the Apple TV+ documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind And Me in which she said she wanted to be ‘proactive’ in promoting mental health.
‘I’m doing things with my Rare Impact Fund. I’m having these conversations, I’m meeting people,’ she said. ‘I went to the White House for the mental health summit and… I’m wanting to be as proactive as I can.’
Gomez visited the White House in May 2022 and held a meeting with US President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.
In 2018, she reportedly suffered a breakdown connected to her lupus and entered treatment for mental health – shortly after news broke that her teenage sweetheart Justin Bieber had gotten engaged to his now-wife Hailey Bieber.
