Police are asking for the community’s help searching for a missing at-risk, 81-year-old man who was last seen four months ago in the city of Garden Grove.
According to the Garden Grove Police Department, the man’s name is Nguyen Nguyen Van and he was last seen on Oct. 6, 2024, around 9 a.m.
Van was purportedly leaving a convalescent home on foot at the time of his last sighting, walking in an unknown direction.
“He has never been reported as a missing person and is known to go for walks,” police said in a release. “[Van] is considered at-risk and is in need of medication.”
The department described Van as an Asian male who stands about 5 feet and 5 inches tall, and weighs about 120 pounds.
In addition, Van is described to be bald and does not have facial hair.
Van’s missing person report detailed that he was last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, brown pants and white shoes.
Officials noted that he also walks with the assistance of a walker.
Police asked anyone with information on Van’s whereabouts to please contact local authorities immediately.
