The Savannah Bananas’ tour of 17 MLB stadiums this summer is sold out, including both exhibitions at Camden Yards in Baltimore on Aug. 1 and 2, according to a Bananas spokesperson.
Fans who entered the Bananas’ ticket lottery system before Nov. 1 will learn whether they’ve won the ability to buy tickets at the beginning of June, two months before the early August games. Both of the games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Current season-ticket holders receive priority for Bananas games, as they’ll receive a presale opportunity for tickets. The Orioles’ website says that “this opportunity is now closed,” meaning fans can’t become Birdland members now in hopes of securing access to 2025 Savannah Bananas tickets.
Suites remain available for the two Bananas games at Camden Yards. Those are sold by the Orioles and are unrelated to the lottery tickets. Fans interested in purchasing suites should reach out to the Orioles’ ticketing office.
If fans miss out on tickets but still want to watch the unique baseball exhibition in Baltimore this summer — the Bananas are baseball’s version of the Harlem Globetrotters — they can tune in to the event on TV. The Aug. 1 game at Camden Yards will air on ESPN, the network announced Sunday.
“The Savannah Bananas have mastered the art of blending baseball with entertainment, creating an experience that resonates with fans of all ages, regardless of their baseball knowledge,” Brent Colborne, ESPN vice president of programming and content strategy, said in a news release. “Their unique approach embodies two of ESPN’s key goals: reaching new audiences and inspiring the next generation of youth athletes. With Banana Ball showcased on ESPN and Disney linear and streaming platforms, we are confident new, avid fans will be created.”
ESPN’s networks will broadcast 10 Bananas games over four months, with the first coming on April 26 when the Bananas play in front of 80,000 fans at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium. The revered college football venue will be transformed into a celebration of baseball in just under two weeks, with the game airing on ESPN2. An Aug. 15 game in Chicago will be the final of the 10 broadcasts, and a June 28 game at Nationals Park in Washington will air on ESPN2.
The game at Camden Yards on Aug. 1 is one of just two Bananas games being broadcast on the main ESPN channel, with the other eight airing on ESPN2. A July 5 contest at Fenway Park in Boston also earned a spot on ESPN.
